Thejaswini’s Blessing through Child Sponsorship

Thejaswini is currently studying in 10th grade at an SDA High School in India with the help of Asian Aid.  She is a good dancer, and is so talented that she even teaches dance to the lower-class girls for many special events. She also likes to spend her time in the school’s library, reading general knowledge books and updating herself about current affairs. Sometimes, she also visits the local government public library and reads novels.

Thejsawini’s father passed away in 2011 and her mother is a janitor in a hospital, working very hard to support her two children.

Thejaswini is very thankful to her sponsor, for being an ultimate support to her and to her family for the past 8 years, during the most crucial days of their lives.  Thejaswini’s mother wants to express her hearty gratitude for the financial support given during the COVID-19 tough times, the relief fund given was of great help to meet the basic requirements of the family. Thejaswini feels proud and is thankful to her sponsor for all that they have done for her.  She is also happy to be an Asian Aid student and says sponsorship is the biggest blessing in her life.

One part writer, one part photographer & two parts traveller… Three years ago I decided something needed to change, so I quit my corporate job and started working for Asian Aid from my home in India. I travel to projects and schools we support in India and Nepal, bringing you their stories through words, photos and video. Since then I have been visiting Asian Aid projects with my camera and notebook in tow, to bring pictures and stories from the field to you.
