Relief in Bangladesh

During this Covid-19 pandemic, our partners have been busy providing monetary relief and emergency food relief in Bangladesh with your support. Our partner BCSS in Bangladesh has also been delivering food relief across our projects to children who remain living at school and also to those who have gone home to their families.

Last year, you helped us provide a Seventh-Day Adventist school and their community in Bangladesh with a well, and running fresh water as part of our WHED project. As a result, the community has had access to fresh drinking water during this lockdown period. This has also meant irrigation so they can water their vegetables for additional nutrition and food support.

We have been working with BCSS, with your support, and have recently provided additional emergency food relief in Bangladesh to families, teachers and boarders. 30 families received a one-off food package which included 20kg of rice, 2kg of pulse, 5kg of potatoes, 1L of oil and 1kg of salt.

61 students who are still boarding at the school have been given a 60 day food package which includes 1000kg of rice, 50kg of pulse, 100kg of potatoes, 30L of oil, 50kg of salt along with vegetables and other nutritious foods.

Finally, our emergency food relief in Bangladesh has been extended to staff too, with 25 staff families receiving a food package that included 30kg of rice, 3kg of pulse, 5kg of potatoes, 2L of oil and 2kg of salt.
