Chief Executive Officer

The Chief Executive Officer [CEO] is responsible for the implementation of strategic direction, plans, controls, and directs all day-to-day operations of Asian Aid, supported by the Board of Directors to ensure the achievement of established organisational objectives. Reporting to the Chairman, the CEO’s primary responsibility is to work collaboratively with the Board of Directors and Asian Aid team to continuously evolve the work and strategic direction of Asian Aid. Particular emphasis is placed on ensuring an accountable organisation that works effectively in partnership with the Seventh-day Adventist Church and within the International Aid and Development Legislative Framework.

Desirable Attributes

  • Proven experience as a CEO or in other senior managerial positions
  • A proven team player with a heart for empowering staff
  • Competence in developing and implementing strategies
  • Demonstrated previous application of corporate governance, legislative requirements, general management best practice and corporate finance principles
  • Understanding of organisational functions such as Marketing, Communications, International Development Program management
  • Outstanding leadership and relationship-building competence, clear understanding of performance management principles and ability to appropriately resource, value, motivate and empower personnel
  • Entrepreneurial mindset to continually drive and develop Asian Aid’s mission
  • Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills in organisation-wide management
  • Strong and positive communication, presentation, negotiation and influencing skills across all stakeholders
  • High levels of personal ethics and integrity

POSITION DESCRIPTION


Programs Manager

The Programs Manager position is responsible for delivering high quality, inclusive child focused programs centred on initiatives to address the changing needs of children and young people, and achieve sustainable community impact.

The Programs Manager plays a role in the planning, implementation, monitoring, sharing lessons learned, tracking and reporting on Asian Aid Program activities. This position supports the development and management of partnerships for selected countries and provides support to partners and other program staff. This role requires program conceptualisation and development skills to be demonstrated, as well as a sound knowledge of the development industry and project cycle.

  • Proven experience in management at a program or large project level
  • Demonstrable experience at project design and review
  • Abilities to develop, review and manage budgets
  • A proven team player with a heart for empowering staff
  • Competence in developing and implementing strategies
  • Analytical abilities, problem-solving and negotiation skills in stakeholder management
  • Strong and positive communication, presentation, negotiation and influencing skills across all stakeholders
  • Experience working cross-culturally and the ability to independently travel internationally
  • High levels of personal ethics and integrity
  • Qualification in International Development, Project Management, Community Services or equivalent discipline.
