Finding Faith

How the opportunity for a good education can turn into something bigger as children find faith through education

Chirutha was born into a poor family in a village near the east coast of India. He was brought up in a strongly Hindu household which had little money for food and clothing for him and his two elder siblings. This meant that for Chirutha, a proper education was not an option.

Chirutha - finding faith through education

The Seventh-Day Adventist pastor from the area saw Chirutha and the state his family were living in and brought him to our SDA school in kindergarten. Today, he is in third grade and his teachers say that he is dedicated to his studies, actively participates and loves learning songs. His passion for learning means that he walks 3km to school every day.

Chirutha has learned to value of education and understands the power it has in his future. For this, he is grateful to us and you for sponsoring him and giving him this opportunity to study and find faith through education. His parents are also so happy that he is valuing his learning and that he now wants to become an engineer.

The local church Seventh-Day Adventist pastor says that Chirutha and his family come to church every week because Chirutha found faith through education at school and shared it with his family.
