Asian Aid believes education is a powerful way to make a lasting, positive impact on the lives of children in poverty.
For many of our sponsored children, having a sponsor means they can have a nutritious meal every day, are surrounded by people who care for them, and the chance to attend school.
Sponsorship gives a disadvantaged child a sense of value, knowing that someone on the other side of the world cares for them.
Your Support Helps
Recently a number of our students in Nepal have been taking part in a program which creates awareness of the dangers and prevention of human trafficking. Through the program, the students are taught public speaking skills so they can share their knowledge with their communities. We are excited to see some of our older students facilitating the program for younger ones. After lockdown, students were taken for an outdoor day inwhich they walked, hiked and played outside. Staff said this had a positive effect on the students' mental health. Grades 6,7, and 9 also had an excursion to the local theatre for a play teaching responsibility.
