Not For Sale Workshop
Human trafficking is rife in India and Nepal. Poverty, low regard for women’s education and rights and increasing demand for trafficked victims contribute to this terrible issue. Help us run prevention workshops in rural communities and at schools there.
A set of five multicultural children’s books helps Indonesian children learn about healthy living and eating, and the dangers of smoking. Your gift will help more Indonesian children learn about such important issues.
All children should have a ‘home’. For many Indian and Nepali vulnerable or abandoned children, Asian Aid’s Children’s Homes are that special place. This gift will help the children and carers at the Homes establish or expand their gardens.
Some 10 million Indians suffer from a sight-related disability. The School for the Blind supports 160 blind children through specialised education. Your gift will provide braille books for their learning and for their enjoyment.
Prevention is better than cure. That is why health professionals in Nepal, India and Indonesia run one-day health education sessions for school children. Your gift will help up to 100 students learn about good health practices.
With limited opportunities to attend school, disadvantaged children who are sponsored value education and work hard to do well. Through this gift, you can help them celebrate their achievement(s), and remind them of the value of perseverance.
This CD will capture a child’s heart for God. Whether listening as they play, or as they are huggled (hugged and cuddled) to sleep, the children will love the lullabies. CD sales will gift Nepali orphaned or abandoned children with a home.

They are taken away, under false pretences, to be trafficked as sex slaves. And if rescued, they can often only go to a refuge house. You can ensure rescued girls/women receive personal hygiene and care items while they live in refuge houses.
Millions of girls don’t attend school. This can be because the school does not have toilets, or because girls find it difficult to stay clean during menstruation. You can help girls feel comfortable at school and continue their education.
The birth of a new baby is joyful, but for disadvantaged families, a new baby can also further strain limited resources. You can help Nepali mothers receive a pack of useful items to welcome their new baby.
Asian Aid sponsored children receive uniforms and stationary items at the beginning of each academic year, but many unsponsored children – in the same schools – do not. You can give deserving children a good start to the school year.
It takes one volunteer and one week to teach Indonesian children about the dangers of alcohol and smoking, and to help communities learn English. Help cover a volunteer’s living costs so that such important messages continue.
Indian girls from poor, rural communities are at increased risk of being trafficked. As ‘flesh trade’, she would become one of 1.2 million trafficked children. You can enable us to map at-risk areas and keep more girls safe.
Deaf and blind Indian children often experience discrimination and fewer opportunities, but Asian Aid’s special-needs schools offer tailored education and quality care. This gift will help train teachers to continue to deliver special-needs education.
Empower women and the ripple-on effects to families and communities are far-reaching. Women can be powerful agents for change. Nepali and Indian women can advocate against human trafficking. You can ensure more women receive training to change communities.
Thousands of girls become sex slaves in India and Nepal every year. And once abused, her family or community is likely to reject her. You can help empower rescued girls through counselling and education services for a better future.
