A Growing Village School in India

Before the Covid-19 lockdown, our village school in north-east of India received school materials which the children were very excited about. Your support has meant the students received books and charts and are learning lots from their new resources. The school is looking to purchase more study materials such as drawing books to assist the children during lockdown.

The classrooms were filled with children, with many students regularly attending school. Prior to Covid-19 restrictions they had an influx of 70 enrolments and three new teachers. Currently, there are 50 boys and 70 girls studying at the village school.

They have a nice campus, located in a peaceful area, which is clean and beautiful.

The school provides regular meals to students, using firewood to cook. They currently have 40 boarding facilities and are looking to expand both this space and their classrooms to accommodate for the increasing number of students looking to attend their school.

With the current lockdown in India, school activities have closed down but are looking to open again once the government says it is safe to do so.
